Many believe a new Zelda announcement or even a new Nintendo handheld. So after talking to Justin about these two speculations, I decided to look up the facts regarding Zelda and Nintendo handheld released dates. This possible could give us a clue of when Nintendo will announce a new Zelda game or even a new DS.
How long has it been since Twilight Princess was announced? The DS was announced how long after the GBA was released? How many years were there between the releases of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Follow the jump to find out.

* Ocarina of Time was released in November of 1998 and Majora’s Mask was announced only 8 months later.
* Majora’s Mask was released in October 2000 and Wind Waker was announced just 11 months later.
* Wind Waker was released in March of 2003 and Twilight Princess was announced just 15 months later.
* Twilight Princess was released in November of 2006. E3 2008 falls in the month of July. It’s been 21 months since Twilight Princess.

This is the longest time we have waited for a Zelda announcement for a console in over 13 years. This is the perfect time for Nintendo to announce a new Zelda for the Nintendo Wii. Many people believe it’s still too early for Nintendo to announce a new Zelda, but looking at the past we are overdue for a Zelda announcement.

* The DS Lite was released in June of 2006, 1 Year and 8 months after the Original DS was released.
* The DS was announced 2 years and 11 months after the GBA was released.
* The GBA was on store shelves for about 3 ½ years when the DS was released
* It has been almost 3 years and 8 months since the DS was first released.

If the numbers are any indication, then there is the possibility of Nintendo announcing a new handheld in the next year or even as soon as E3. But since the DS is not considered part of the Game Boy line, this thinking could be flawed. The DS has sold extremely well but recently sales have dropped. It would seem like an ideal time for Nintendo to announce a new Handheld.
I guess we will have to wait until E3 to find out what Nintendo has in store for the world. These next few weeks will be painful ones, full of speculation. But be patient, Nintendo is the master of surprises.

A DS apesar do seu tempo no mercado ainda vende muito bem, acharia cedo anunciar uma nova para já, se anunciassem só apra o ano de 2009, faria com que a ds lite ainda vendessem algumas este ano.

A DS não precisa de sucessor, se pensarem o Game Boy original só recebeu um update (minúsculo) com o GBC, 9 anos depois de ser lançado. A PSP embora seja um sucesso, não se compara à DS em vendas.

A Nintendo não precisa de uma consola nova, precisa de jogos novos.

E o Game Boy pocket? Não foi entre o GB original e color?

Um novo Zelda? Isso era óptimo , mesmo só tendo jogado um pouco do outro, era excelente, e quero ver se o jogo, era fixe que este novo fosse uma continuação.

Quando saiu a fat DS, eu comprei-a logo, e uns tempos depois saiu a lite. Como era tão melhor que a fat, decidi compra-la...
Espero que agora a história não se repita... a minha conta bancária não dá para tudo :/

Exactamente como eu, comprei também cada uma no início de vida, passado pouco tempo de ter a Fat tive um desgosto, reparei que na parte de dentro do ecrã havia poeiras e eu deixei a DS de parte, depois vi a Game com a promoção de que ao vender a Fat levávamos a Lite mais barata e aproveitei, mas foi principalmente por causa dessas poeiras senão ainda tinha a fat. Se eventualmente sair uma nova DS não compro, a menos que tenha novas funções e muita coisa nova e melhor, o que eu duvido.

Eu tinha uma phat e estragou-se, fez-me obrigar a comprar uma lite, mas tive de vender a psp. E não penso comprar uma portátil tão cedo.

É normal que isto aconteça, anunciarem sempre, os gajos da Microsoft disseram que antes de a X360 sair, já estavam a pensar noutra consola!
E todos têm de ser assim...

Rumours emerged after a suspicious Nippon Ichi advert was posted by website Aeropause. It shows the publisher's upcoming titles on a DS with much larger screens.

Nintendo's comments would suggest this doesn't mean much, though the platform holder did not comment directly on the advert's authenticity.

The possibility of Nintendo unveiling a redesigned DS model at next week's E3 show in America also remains a talking point. Observers suggest the publisher has historically favoured revising its handheld hardware once every three years.

Bem, é política de uma empresa desmentir todos os rumores, até anunciarem oficialmente algo. São capazes de desmentir algo hoje ("não temos quaisquer planos de...") e anunciarem amanhã exactamente isso.

Eu gostava que viesse aí algo, mas não me parece... mas posso estar errado.

Eu sentir-me-ia traída se eventualmente viesse uma nova DS, no entanto, se viesse de facto uma com os ecrãs maiores agradecia, pois só não jogo mais DS precisamente por isso, os ecrãs são demasiado pequenos e cansam a vista muito rapidamente.

E achei estranho na publicidade, que supostamente é oficial, ir a imagem da nova DS, não me parece que a Nintendo fosse fazer isso deliberadamente, eu acho que nos estão a dar hints

Nesse caso podes ter a certeza que vendia a minha e comprava esta, ter uma DS com possibilidade de jogar jogos GB era um sonho. Bem, a E3 está quase à porta e no tópico oficial da mesma tem os horários, eu vou ver, dá em directo \o/ (dá em vários sites, no ano passado vi pelo GameSpot.com)

Era bom se a MS anunciasse uma portátil. Assim havia mais competição no mundo das portáteis que infelizmente é monopolizado pela Nintendo.

E eis o pedido de desculpas da empresa que mostrou ao Mundo aquela DS com os ecrãs maiores, já visto aqui anteriormente.
